The 2024 Mid Atlantic Life Safety Conference (MALSC) marks the 65th year of delivering quality education in the Mid-Atlantic region. MALSC offers programming whose scope goes beyond public fire and life safety education and code enforcement to also include topics relevant to the emergency medical services, emergency management, firefighter health and safety, and community risk reduction. The conference is intended to be a face to face gathering that in 2024 moved from the legacy one day offering to a full two-day conference. Attendees can choose from a variety of presentations after an opening conference key note presentation. A conference registration fee includes provision for didactic presentations, break refreshments, sit down luncheons and a banquet. MALSC results from the collaborative efforts of Maryland public and private as well as United States Federal safety partners that include Fire and Burn Safety Coalition of Maryland, Inc (FABSCOM); Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA); Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute (MFRI); Maryland Fire Chief's Association (MFCA); Office of the State Fire Marshal; Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI); Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS), Maryland State Firemen's Association (MSFA); Howard Co. (MD) Fire and Rescue; Prince George's Co. Fire/EMS Dept.; National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA); United States Fire Administration (USFA). MALSC started in 1959 as the Maryland Governor’s Fire Prevention Conference. It has been going strong ever since.
